About Star Micronics -Three Founding Spirit-

Star Micronics has started the business of precision component processing based on the following three spirit in 1950.

: In Japan with scarce resources, we have taken the strategy independent on resources, aiming at "business of generating the greatest impact from the least materials."

: Aiming at business development for large cities in the country as a manufacture in a provincial capital of Shizuoka. We have focused on the business, which does not require much transportation cost.

: During the confusion after the war, the labor-dependent business with many workers has been risky. The business, which requires as less workers as possible, was requested.

Now, more than half a century has past since the beginning of our business, and social environment has drastically changed from the times of the foundation.
Furthermore, international competitiveness is required due to globalization in the business world as well, therefore provision of high-value added products is requested.
Our company has been founded based on the three spirit, which did not fade away in these changing environment. As a technical group, centering on small-sized precision processing and assembly as a core, we are always producing high-value added products and developing to the company, which deploys business to the world, now.

SINCE1950 Precision Products

Started business based on the three founding spirit. Established the position as a manufacturer specializing in precision comportment processing through the mass-production of wristwatch components.
Besides wristwatch components, now we extended to the cutting-edge precision component processing fields such as medical equipment components and automotive equipment components.

SINCE1958 Machine Tools

Launched into machine tools market with component processing machines, which had been manufactured and used in-house for precision component processing. We have continued to generate machines with a user's viewpoint, taking advantage of our own user experiences.
Always made challenges to the cutting-edge technology such as the development of motion control technology, which is our original optimal control technology. We are proud of our high market share on Swiss Type Automatic Lathe suited for precision component processing with high accuracy.

SINCE1970 Special Products and Components

Developed new business field by fusing conventional precision processing technology and cutting-edge electronics technology. For special products business, which started with the development of portable printers mounted in calculators, now main products are printers used for POS systems. For component business, which started with the development of electronic buzzers for clocks and smoke alarm applications, besides electronic buzzers, now speakers have been supplied. These are used widely for automobile and mobile equipment by advancing aggressive development of such as downsized products and environment-conscious products.

Since the exportation of the machine tools to UK for the first time in 1962, Star Micronics has been always developing business with a view to "the world"

Overseas Sales Locations

In 1977, established the first foreign sales company in US. Since then, we have developed aggressively to growing regions, now our foreign sales network has extended not only America but also to Europe and Asia.

Overseas Production Locations

Began overseas production in South Korea in the late 1970s. In 1989, Star Micronics Manufacturing Dalian Co., Ltd., manufacturing subsidiary of local corporation has been established in Dalian, China. We have begun production in China without delay, and now it has developed to our major production site. Also, Star Micronics has built an optimal global production system such as by establishing precision product and machine tool production subsidiaries in Shanghai and Thailand.

Environmental Activities and CSR

We are promoting environmental control action by acquiring ISO14001, International Standard for environmental management systems, both in our domestic business facilities and in overseas manufacturing subsidiaries as well as taking "zero emission" activity, which aims at zero wastes.
In addition, we are actively working on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities as well by such as ensuring through compliance.
